Dr. Raul Arrabal, graduated in Chemistry in 2002 (UCM, Extraordinary Award), completed his PhD in Materials Science in 2006 (UCM, Extraordinary Award, FPU grant). He then enjoyed a competitive postdoctoral contract (2006-2008, MEC grant) at the University of Manchester. In December 2008 he reincorporated into Complutense University of Madrid with a Ramon y Cajal research fellowship. In 2013 he has been appointed as an Associated Professor at UCM. Since 2003, he has been involved in the field of characterization, corrosion and protection of steels and light metals, with particular interest in the development of coatings on titanium, aluminium and magnesium by anodizing and Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation. Dr. Raul Arrabal has lead several nationally funded research projects and numerous contracts with industry dedicated to corrosion studies of materials in chemical, petrochemical and transport industry.
