Lara Moreno graduated in the Chemistry’s degree at Complutense University of Madrid in 2017 and Materials Science and Engineering master’s at the Carlos III of Madrid in 2018. In 2019, she began his PhD in Advance Chemistry in the field of the Materials Science and Engineering at Complutense of Madrid in collaboration with Polymer Funzionalization group at Institute of Polymer Science and Technology.
During this year, Lara worked in the design and characterization of duplex coatings on three different MgxZnyCa (x: 1, 3 and 0.5, and y: 1, 0.3 and 0.2) alloys by plasma electrolytic oxidation following breath figures technique. The corrosion behaviour of bulk material and coated samples were evaluated by hydrogen evolution and electrochemical measurements in a-MEM solution, a complete one and an inorganic part only, at 37ºC during 5 days of immersion. Due to high interest in biomedical applications, Additive Manufacturing will be introduce in her PhD in order to evaluate the corrosion behaviour and characterization of bioactive coatings on Mg alloys with Ca and Zn alloying elements by this technique.
